Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Principal /Sr. Principal Engineer System Modeling and Simulation for our Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) Advanced Programs algorithm development team in Northridge, CA.

This position requires the selected candidate to work on-site and does not allow for telework. Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Develops new and/or integrates existing system performance models, algorithms, and command modes for sensor systems.

•Simulates real-time sensor operations and develops algorithms for implementation in embedded software.

•Uses advanced visualization tools to analyze sensor data as needed.

• Models operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and recommends alternative architectures.

•Help model RF systems for missile targeting

•System Engineering foundations, including requirements decomposition and subsystem interdependencies at the RF level
•Implement, test, and verify RF system algorithms for Advanced Programs
•Provide and implement technical solutions to RF system problems
•Interact with senior engineering personnel on technical matters
•Analyze RF system test data
•Help coordinate issue resolution between various engineering disciplines

•Works with minimal direction

•Independently determines and develops technical objectives of assignments
•Innovative problem solving

•SE requirements decomposition to lower level assemblies

•SE identify/document system/subsystem interdependencies for RF subsystems

• Models operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and recommends alternative architectures.

• Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal (T03):
•BS in Engineering or Physics degree and at least 5 years’ experience; or MS Engineering or Physics degree and at least 3 years' experience

•Excellent understanding of radar or RF systems; in-depth understanding of radar technical expertise

•Have DoD Secret security clearance and within 5 years of previous investigation; must be US citizen

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal (T04):
•BS in Engineering or Physics degree and at least 9 years’ experience; or MS Engineering or Physics degree and at least 7 years' experience

•Excellent understanding of radar or RF systems; in-depth understanding of radar technical expertise

•Have DoD Secret security clearance and within 5 years of previous investigation; must be US citizen


Preferred Qualifications:
•DoD contractor experience preferred

•Experience in a radar related industry

•Skills in programming: MATLAB or Python required

•C++ programming skills desired


Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD
Salary Range 2: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
