Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer / Principal Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Oklahoma City, OK!

Essential Functions:

The software engineer will develop, modify and maintain customized or standardized embedded Mission Systems applications using software engineering best practices and standards, and participate in the full life-cycle of software development, to include requirements development, modeling and design, application development, unit to CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance. In particular this role will support the Mission Software Team for Flight Systems Software.

This requisition may be filled at the Software Engineer level or the Principal Software Engineer level.
 
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications for a Software Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience in software engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 0 years of experience in software engineering
  • Experience developing software/writing code in C++
  • At minimum an active DoD Secret level clearance is required to apply, with the ability to obtain (and maintain) special program access (PAR) before starting on Day 1. This PAR must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.


Basic Qualifications for a Principal Software Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience in software engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of experience in software engineering; OR a PhD degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
  • Experience developing software/writing code in C++
  • At minimum an active DoD Secret level clearance is required to apply, with the ability to obtain (and maintain) special program access (PAR) before starting on Day 1. This PAR must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing software with C++ and/or Python
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience developing software for safety critical embedded system
  • Experience integrating and debugging software on hardware
  • Experience working within an Agile environment
  • Familiarity with software development tools such as Git, CMake, and Eclipse
  • Knowledge of Linux systems and basic commands
  • Familiarity with software requirements tools such as DOORS and Rational Rhapsody
  • Program Access

Salary Range: $67,400 USD - $101,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $83,000 USD - $124,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
