The Palmdale/OKC Site Lab Operations, Engineering and Test Department is looking for a passionate and dedicated Section Manager to join our Oklahoma City team.  As a manager, you will lead a team of test engineers that verify subsystem and system level hardware and software functionality for an advanced technology program as well as perform guidance and leadership to our Lab Operations team.

This person will manage a group of 12 to 15 engineers on the Program and will be responsible for maintaining and updating the test process, as necessary. The position will be expected to manage scope/effort and build task assessments as well as bidding on new projects.

The selected candidate will be responsible and accountable to manage day-to-day tasks of a team of 12-15 engineers and test conductors. You will also be responsible for management of costs and schedules and to build estimates and proposals for new projects.  Ongoing tasking includes, but is not limited to, decisions regarding awards, performance evaluations, salary review process, staffing, employee movement between programs, balancing resources among programs, employee development and mentoring, ensuring proper charging practices are followed, meeting indirect budget targets, and interpreting higher level guidance for implementation within the organization.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math with 9 years aerospace engineering experience 

  • At least 5 years of relevant aerospace test experience (lab, ground, or flight) and/or lab operations experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading people

  • Demonstrated experience managing technical execution

  • Candidate must have an active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain program access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid technical understanding of avionics systems and architectures

  • Previous lab setup/building experience 

  • Ability to interface with all levels of functional and program management

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute technical projects from inception through completion with the ability to manage several tasks/projects simultaneously

  • Ability to manage cost, schedule, and technical performance of SOW elements

  • Experience coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, and spend plans.

  • Risk and opportunity management experience

  • Customer relationship experience 

  • Ability to analyze data and extract trends, anomalies, and errors.

Salary Range: $117,400 USD - $176,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
