Our Platform Laboratory Systems & Design (PLSD) group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in Oklahoma City, OK. You will become part of a Northrop Grumman team of professionals who are actively developing Avionics Testing Solutions and Specialized Equipment for the B-2 Stealth Bomber and Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) platforms. These solutions consist of custom-designed mounting fixtures, power distribution systems, cooling solutions, networking, and harnessing for the System Test lab environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and ownership of engineering design as well as 2D drawing formats and standards for a wide array of mechanical products:

    • Product details

    • Product assemblies

    • Test Bench/Bay assemblies

    • Lab Top Level installations

  • Development and coordination for internal and customer design reviews for the mechanical and system level designs of our products

  • Information Security research for technical analysis of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products for integration in a classified environment

  • Development of supporting documentation (operating / user manuals, etc.) for our products

  • Assist in troubleshooting of lab equipment as failures occur

  • Coordination with lab engineering manager to ensure product technical data packages meet project schedule commitments

  • Coordinate between several internal and external stakeholder groups (Software Development, System Test, Computer / IT Operations, Procurement, etc.) to achieve contractual commitments

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) and minimum of 2 years of experience or 0 years with Master’s Degree

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance & specific program access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD SECRET or higher security clearance with investigation in the last five (5) years

  • Active Program clearance

  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams

  • Experience in Aerospace or Defense industry (development or test)

  • Experience in an Agile development environment

  • Experience in Instrumentation or Avionics Systems

  • Experience with any of the following CAD Software Tools and Data Management Products: CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Siemens Mentor/Capital, SEE Electrical Expert, Microsoft Visio, National Instruments LabView, SmarTeam, Team Center

  • Experience in Hydraulic systems

  • Experience in Additive Manufacturing or 3D-Print design & technologies

Salary Range: $61,300 USD - $76,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $0 USD - $91,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
