Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Associate Engineer Mechanical/Engineer Mechanical to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA and is assigned to 1st shift (Monday thru Thursday) on a 4 day - 10 hours/day schedule.

The selected candidate will become part of the Liaison Engineering team within the Vehicle Engineering IPT and responsibilities include:

Liaison/MRB:

  • Act as engineering authority for non-conformances supporting the STRIKE program.
  • Perform timely dispositions for nonconforming parts, assemblies, and installations.
  • Coordinate with a team of multiple disciplines engineers to determine effective solutions to defects that are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives.
  • Maintain integrity of the Material Review Board (MRB) process and engineering authority.
  • Some of the tools you will be using are NX, VisPro, and TeamCenter.

This requisition may be filled at the Associate Engineer Mechanical level or Engineer Mechanical level.

Basic Qualifications (Associate Engineer Mechanical):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 0 years of related engineering experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 0 years of experience.
  • Experience with TeamCenter and NX, Visualization Professional, or other CAD program.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • This position requires a current in-scope DOD Secret Clearance as well as the ability to obtain a Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Basic Qualifications (Engineer Mechanical):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related engineering experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 0 years of experience.
  • Experience with TeamCenter and NX, Visualization Professional, or other CAD program.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • This position requires a current in-scope DOD Secret Clearance as well as the ability to obtain a Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MRB process.
  • Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment.
  • Experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE) (3-D model engineering definition).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership, and problem solving abilities.

Salary Range: 60800 - 91200
Salary Range 2: 74200 - 111400

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
