Our Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking an Engineering Technician 1 to join our Advanced Manufacturing Technology team. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA. 

As a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology development team, you will provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. In this role, the Engineering Technician supports manufacturing concepts and processes for production applications of advanced technologies including, but not limited to composites fabrication, assembly, automation, inspection, and coatings technologies; Performs fabrication, assembly, and testing based activities in support of multiple projects; May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis; Supports engineering on design concepts, TRL/MRL maturity, and specification requirements to best utilize resources and manufacturing techniques; and Ensures processes and procedures are followed and in compliance with regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED

  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment    

  • This position requires the ability to work any shift and schedule, including 1st or 2nd shift and weekends

  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance and special program access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

  • This position requires the ability to travel up to 10% of the time 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to fabricate assemblies using bonding, mechanically fastening or welding methods

  • Experience with curing composite to include layup, bagging and cure equipment setup

  • Experience with Heating system setup.

  • Experience with reading and interpreting technical documents, drawings, and process procedures

  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Self-starter who is able to work with minimal direction

  • Ability to demonstrate independent creative thinking and problem solving capabilities

  • Must be able to individually manage multiple tasks concurrently and provide technical support to engineering on a variety of different projects

  • Ability to interface with various support organizations and management

  • Active Program Access

  • Direct experience working with multiple tools used to cure and cut composites (Specialty Heaters, Automated Power Feed or Specialty Cutters)

  • Airframe fabrication, assembly, and LO coatings experience


Salary Range: 41300 - 68800

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
