This position is for the Section Manager (SM) of a Sub-Systems Design group of Vehicle Engineers for the B-2 program in OKC-Tinker or Palmdale, CA, reporting to the Vehicle Engineering (VE) Department Manager, Palmdale Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence.

The SM will lead a growing team of engineers supporting a variety of B-2 programs. SM will be responsible for leading all managerial tasks relevant to Vehicle Engineering. The section manager will work 80% of their time in the sub-systems Vehicle Engineering disciplines, as directed by the B-2 Vehicle Engineering IPT. The manager will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and facilitating communications, tasking, scheduling, and technical reviews with each individual contributor’s associated functional task lead in Palmdale, CA. For functional home room support, approximately 20% of the SM’s time will be focused on recruiting, staffing, retaining talent, and holding performance reviews. Supporting relevant VE NGAS Community of Practice will be expected.

Basic Qualifications:

  • ABET accredited Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline along with 9+ years' experience

  • Demonstrated excellence in a vehicle engineering field such as structural design and/or sub-systems design

  • Active DoD Secret and a background investigation within the scope of five years. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain all required security clearances and program specific accesses.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • ABET accredited Master of Science Degree in Engineering

  • Expert knowledge of NGC and/or B-2 engineering processes.

  • Demonstrated success in B-2 leadership/management roles.

  • Experience with B-2 BTP development and aircraft modifications.

  • Experience with CATIA V5, Teamcenter, and B-2 legacy tools.

  • Current Active In-Scope DOD Secret with Program Access.

  • Experience with Staffing Forecasting

Salary Range: $127,800 USD - $191,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
