Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems located in Palmdale, CA or in Oklahoma City has an opening for a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer. The selected candidate will perform Subsystems design support on ECS, Fuel, Powerplant, Landing Gear, Harness, and Hydraulic installations.
Essential Functions:
•    Develop solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives while keeping the statement of work and design requirements in focus.
•    Coordination and clear communication with other disciplines, customer, and suppliers during the development of design solutions.
•    Concise presentation and explanation of system design issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.
•    Development and review of completed models, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.  
•    Evaluation of engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.

Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Engineer Mechanical:
•    BS degree in Engineering and a minimum of 9 years of experience in Aerospace Subsystems design; OR MS degree in Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience in Aerospace Subsystems design; OR a PhD in Engineering with 4 years of Aerospace Subsystems design.
•    Experience in a combination of ECS, Fuel, Powerplant, Landing Gear, Harness, and Hydraulic installations.
•    Experience driving CATIA V5 in the development of aircraft Subsystem Installations.

•    This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred.
•    5 years or more Aerospace Subsystems design experience using Catia V5.
•    Experience working on Special Access Programs
•    Experience working on military aircraft

Salary Range: $93,500 USD - $171,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
