Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems has an opening for an Engineer Structural Analysis to join our team of qualified diverse individuals.
This position will be located in Palmdale, CA and is assigned to 1st shift (Monday through Thursday) on a 4 day - 10 hours/day schedule. Primary function is design Stress Analysis supporting a high paced development environment.
Essential Functions:
Provides design stress sizing for primary and secondary structure.
Researches, develops, designs, tests, documents, and recommends solutions to engineering mechanical/composite components and assemblies
Maintains and improves part designs, equipment, and systems in support of production deliveries
Performs structural analysis to a wide variety of designs and materials including both composites and metals. Analysis includes but not limited to static, dynamic, fatigue and damage tolerance.
Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
Review of completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
Evaluation of engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.
This position may be filled as a T2 / T3 level based on Basic Qualification eligibility
Structural Eng / T2
Basic Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or equivalent) + 2 years of experience in Aerospace structural analysis or 0 years with a Masters
Must have an active DOD Secret Clearance (investigated within the past 5 years)
Must have the ability to obtain a program security access prior to starting
Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years or more Aerospace structural analysis experience using NASTRAN, PATRAN, or FEMAP.
Experience in Bonded Composite Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
Experience working on Special Access Programs
Experience working on military aircraft
Experience performing DADT analysis
Analysis experience in a design or MRB role
Principal T3 level
Basic Qualifications:

Must have an active DOD Secret Clearance (investigated within the past 5 years)
Must have the ability to obtain a program security access prior to starting
Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years or more Aerospace structural analysis experience using NASTRAN, PATRAN, or FEMAP.
