Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Electronics Engineer/Principal Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA. The successful candidate will be part of a payload infrastructure engineering team that manages and maintains critical pieces of payload infrastructure vital to program success.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

The Electronics Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Managing and supporting system performance in an operational environment during critical program testing
  • Maintaining sensor management hardware across the enterprise to ensure configuration management per released program documentation
  • Analyzing subsystem performance and addressing anomalous behavior in post test data logs
  • Reporting subsystem status to payload infrastructure team lead for upward program communication

This requisition may be filled at either a Electronics Engineer level or a Principal Electronics Engineer level.

Basic Qualifications (Electronics Engineer):

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of related experience OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related experience
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or DoE equivalent and ability to acquire SAP clearance (SAP not required to start)
  • Up to 25% travel

Basic Qualifications (Principal Electronics Engineer):

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of related experience OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related experience OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 years of related experience
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or DoE equivalent and ability to acquire SAP clearance (SAP not required to start)
  • Up to 25% travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in electronics integration and testing
  • Familiarity with common industry standards related to digital communications, such as MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, RS-232, IPv4/IPv6
  • Experience with Networking infrastructure at both the Layer 2 and Layer 3
  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance and active SAP clearance

Salary Range: $81,700 USD - $122,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $101,200 USD - $151,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
