Northrop Grumman AS, B-2 Systems Engineering within PDM in Palmdale is seeking a highly qualified, mission-oriented individual to lead Test Engineering teams as well as Liaison Engineering, L.O. Engineering, Mass Properties and Configuration Management. 

The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of Ground and Flight Test, Operations, and Integration & Test organizations, will have experience leading diverse teams through change, and will have a vision for how they will promote team engagement within this department.

The responsibilities for this job include but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and direction for the Engineering IPT serving as the integration interface between B-2 PDM Manufacturing and Test IPT’s

  • Lead a team of Liaison, Low Observable Engineers, Test Engineers and Configuration Management to drive efficiencies.

  • Resolve integrated technical or operational problems, and meet established schedules

  • Maintain the technical integrity and performance for B-2 Production Manufacturing during the PDM Cycle

  • Develop and administer budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and performance standards

  • Gather and report on performance metrics

  • Risk, Issue, and Opportunity Management

  • Support the program office with process improvement, implementation, and opportunities.

  • Development of proposals and ECPs including evaluation of subcontractor proposals

  • Conducting regular briefing to program, functional, and engineering management

  • Build and maintain a culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, and supports innovation

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a Bachelor's in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and 9 years of relative experience or Master's degree and 7 years of relative experience

  • Must have an Active Secret clearance

  • Ability to receive Special Program access

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a Lead or first level a manager role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance

  • Ability to receive Special Program access

  • Excellent leadership, motivational, and communications skills

  • Experience managing large budgets of both labor and material

  • Experience leading large teams

  • Experience in functional management

  • Experience leading or championing process improvement projects

  • Desire to drive change


Salary Range: $155,400 USD - $233,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
