Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is currently looking for a Manager, Facilities Maintenance 2 to work in our Palmdale, California location for second shift.

Description & Responsibilities:
The Facilities Maintenance Manager Second Shift works under the direction of the Palmdale Facilities Maintenance Department Senior Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day management of supervise employees and outside contractors who; construct, maintain, and repair utilities systems, buildings, and equipment via one or more of multi-craft trades: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, Maintenance Technicians, janitorial, and/or general maintenance. Sets priorities and performs forecasting and allocates the resources needed to complete all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. They are a key member of the Facility, Maintenance leadership team and will have administrative responsibilities which include, scheduling, performance reviews, counseling, and interfacing with the customers, engineering, and leadership. They are responsible to ensure that timecards are current, approved and input in a timely manner, supports nightly startup meetings and monitors critical jobs.

Competencies for Success:

Successful candidate should have sound communication skills, both verbal and written, ability to work closely with coworkers and engineering staff, financial management skills, and computer skills. This position requires the knowledge and experience of facilities maintenance to understand scheduling and planning, logistics, and vendor/contractor requirements. This position will work closely with internal customers to ensure the Facilities & Maintenance workforce has all the materials, equipment, and personnel to safely maintain the Palmdale Site on second shift.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or 7 years equivalent experience in operational or facilities maintenance leadership role or 5 years of experience with a Masters Degree.

  • An additional 10+ years of experience in lieu of a Degree with GED.

  • Ability to effectively manage a team of professionals and technicians, including both employees and vendors

  • Experience with Microsoft Office skills Word, Excel, MS Project, and Power Point

  • Supervision of 15 to 20 employees.

  • Experience supporting a large Manufacturing Facility

  • Capability to comprehend and analyze complex problems

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving ability

  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Department of Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interaction with all levels of the organization and external representatives

  • Experience using Maximo and/or other maintenance management system

  • Familiar with establishing and tracking performance metrics

  • Confidence briefing senior level management and executive leadership

  • Experience working in a mission critical facility environment

  • Current DoD Secret Clearance with SAP Access


Salary Range: $107,900 USD - $161,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
