Aeronautics Systems Sector is looking for a well-qualified Flight Inspector 4. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

Essential Functions:

  • Inspects demonstrator and production aircraft systems, equipment and parts for operation and conformance to government and company standards and specifications.
  • Inspects the installation and operation of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, oil, and emergency systems and other parts and equipment of aircraft.
  • Performs preflight and post-flight inspections in accordance with standard procedure on flight-proven aircraft.
  • Approves non-flight-proven aircraft for flight. Inspects, adjustments, repairs, or modifications made on the aircraft.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent with at least 8 years’ experience in aerospace with emphasis in aircraft manufacturing and quality assurance. Or an Associate’s degree with at least 6 years’ experience in aerospace with emphasis in aircraft manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Must be capable of performing mechanical measurement, test witness, processing of nonconforming material into the MRB and verification of reworked or repaired product.
  • Must have a Secret to start and within scope in the last 6 years and ability to obtain an approved PAR​
  • Must be able to pass medical/respiratory exams.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 years’ experience working with production, flight operations, Flight Test, engineering and the customer.
  • An A&P license is a plus.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to all levels of leadership.
  • Current TS clearance and active PAR

Salary Range: $70,700 USD - $117,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
