Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Tool Die Making 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

The selected candidate has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for leading the Standard Tooling organization across multiple restricted and non-restricted programs, including quality, cost and schedule objectives. The selected candidate will manage a team of Standard Tooling Crib Attendants whose responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and supporting assembly line tool boxes for production.
  • Managing Standard Tooling kits and crib inventory.
  • Manage calibration requirements for all Standard Tools.
  • Manage capital assets owned by the Standard Tooling organization.
  • Support Factory Accountability requirements for all Standard Tooling Services.
  • Provide Standard Tool equipment and support on-site repair and preventive maintenance plans.

Essential Management Functions:

  • Provides direction and coaching to Tool Crib Attendants.
  • Ensures team members receive the required training and prepares the daily work plans in support of overall program objectives.
  • Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees.
  • Provides leadership/direction to ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.
  • The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma /equivalent with 5 years’ experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, maintenance and/or related environment. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience
  • Experience working with tool kitting and crib inventory
  • Firm understanding of Tooling and Factory Accountability requirements and process adherence
  • 1 year of experience in a leadership, supervisory and/or management role
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • Must be available to work any shift

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience working with CribMaster or similar
  • Leadership experience in aerospace or a related industry
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and the ability to effectively communicate with various levels of leadership

Salary Range: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
