Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking two highly qualified and mission-oriented individuals to be part of the Tooling Organization Leadership Team in Palmdale, CA with responsibilities including (but not limited to) the following:

The NGAS Tooling Team is seeking a level 2 manager for the Metrology department. Responsibilities include staffing, training, management of indirect budget and capital asset requirements. The selected candidate will ensure tooling support of build/maintenance for production transition and sustained efforts, including measurement support of validation/verification of product. In addition, the selected candidate will establish, maintain, and improve processes to support multiple site program efforts.

The NGAS Tooling Team is seeking another level 2 manager. Responsibilities includes managing AEO (Aircraft Equipment Expeditors) across multiple programs.  Develop technical automated tooling/AEO statement of work. The selected candidate will ensure that projects/designs are completed on schedule and within budget. The selected candidate will ensure tooling/automation support of build/maintenance for production transition and sustained efforts. In addition, the selected candidate will establish, maintain, and improves processes/procedures to support program efforts by collaborating with other Aeronautics Systems Sector Tooling Management.

In addition, both positions are expected to:

• Lead a group of 10 to 15 hourly non-exempt employees and/or level 1 mangers
• Manage and coordinate tool activities with other programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed
• Own responsibility for program and technical performance while providing objective-oriented direction to hard lined or dotted line reporting personnel, utilizing management guidelines & general policies.
• Monitor and manage risk items to ensure mitigating actions are effective and timely
• Promote Lean, Knowledge Management, and other process improvement initiatives as well as sharing of lessons learned and best practices throughout the organization
• Manage the following: personnel performance evaluation, merit planning, employee development, and utilization of EVMS to manage direct costs

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma /equivalent with 7 years’ experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, maintenance and/or related environment. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience
• A current and active DoD Secret security clearance with a periodic re-investigation OR an original adjudication date completed within the last 5 years
• The ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
• Must be available to work any shift

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Special Program Access
• Experience working with CribMaster or similar
• Previous Supervisory and Management experience in managing large projects, with an emphasis on tooling, manufacturing, assembly lines, and implementing technology into a production environment
• Aerospace or Aviation Industry experience managing tool fabrication organizations & tool fabrication shops, & material procurement
• Candidates should have strong Project Management, Microsoft Office tools, Communication, and Presentation Skills

Salary Range: $118,600 USD - $178,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
