Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector (NGAS) is currently seeking a Senior Security Manager to join our team. The location for the role is Palmdale, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities: This role serves as the Senior Security Manager for a large, restricted program. In this role the selected candidate will be responsible for leading a large security organization across multiple sites. Additionally, they will have program security responsibilities to ensure compliance with Government and corporate security directives across multiple sectors within Northrop Grumman. A key role for this position is the primary interface with Government Security counterparts as well as corporate executives.

The successful candidate must be an experienced security manager with strong leadership and interpersonal skills. They must be able to adapt in a highly charged and challenging work environment.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Leading several front-line managers to ensure consistent application of the leadership characteristics that are expected of all leaders within the organization.

  • Ensuring employee engagement across the team in geographically diverse locations.

  • Collaboration across teams within the Security organization.

  • Providing leadership, guidance, and professional development/mentoring for a network of site and program Security Managers as well as security professionals at all levels.

  • Developing and implementing security policy and standards across the program.

  • Ensuring all program performance objectives as well as key milestones and deliverables are met.

  • Managing a program security budget within established targets.

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position the candidate should meet the minimal knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • 12+ years of Security experience with a Bachelor's degree OR 10+ years with a Master's degree OR an additional 6+ years of Security experience in lieu of degree with a HS diploma including leadership and management security experience

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Security regulations

  • Candidate must have and be able to maintain an Active DoD U.S. Government Security clearance at the Top Secret level with a background investigation within 6 years

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Experience managing security on large Special Access Programs

  • Master’s Degree in Security, Business, or a related field

  • Relevant professional certifications such as ISP, CISSP, Security+, CPP etc.


Salary Range: $141,300 USD - $211,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
