 Northrop Grumman is seeking Associate Network Engineer interns to join the Defense Systems Intern Program. This position will be located in Palmdale CA. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Special Programs under the Logistics and Modernization Division.

Basic Qualifications:
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
  • Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2021
  • Be majoring in Computer Systems Engineering or Information Technology or Electrical Engineering with a concentration in IT or related discipline
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
  • Exposure/experience with aspects of graphic design and development, and at least a moderate level of computer skills with Adobe, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and 2D/3D graphic utility software.
  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2021
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong listening skills.
  • Must be able to obtain DoD 8570 IAM level I security certification (examples: Security+ CE, GSLC, etc.) within 3 months of start date.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience gathering customer requirements for new network solutions
  • Experience designing networking solutions the meet customer requirements
  • Experience configuring/installing/maintaining Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Experience designing/configuring/installing/maintaining classified networks
  • Experience designing secure network systems
  • Experience working with COMSEC devices
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing network issues
  • Holds current, industry recognized network hardware certifications.
