Enjoy a diverse, collaborative environment with professionals across the nation ready to help launch your career.   Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is hiring a Director 2 of Mission Assurance to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA, and will have functional leadership responsibilities for the Palmdale Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence (CoE).     This position will report directly to the VP of Mission Assurance and Programs, with a dotted line reporting structure to the VP of Operations. The Mission Assurance Director will be the primary POC for quality management integration across the CoE. As the primary POC this leader will serve in a key leadership role providing oversight of the quality management system across a broad set of programs at the CoE. This includes organization diagnostics and performance consulting including operational performance, leadership and team assessment and program facilitation.

• Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance with mission assurance programs, policies, processes, procedures and that the performance and quality of products/processes conform to established standards, specifications and agency guidelines.
• Provides expertise and guidance in interpreting policies, regulatory and/or governmental regulations, and agency guidelines to assure compliance.
• Supports the development phase by assuring engineering products and processes conform to internal and customer requirements.
• Works directly with operating entities to ensure that inspections, process control analyses or audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements and meet specifications.

  The selected candidate must ensure the oversight of administrative/operations, planning, support and property requirements and guide and consult management on matters pertaining to business practices, human resource activity, and organizational requirements. 

• Must be able to monitor cost performance and control Mission Assurance direct and indirect budgets to include labor, other indirect expense, training and data processing.
• Will be required to perform other Mission Assurance initiatives and duties as needed.
• Responsible for partnering with their engineering and operations counterparts in developing and maintaining sound business practices that are designed to ensure quality products are produced at the CoE.
• Provide direct oversight in all efforts related to factory accountability and foreign object elimination practices flowed down through the NAS412.
• Will drive all Non Destructive Inspection efforts (NAS410) on site to ensure consistent training and execution across the Palmdale programs. 
  

  Key responsibilities also include:

• Acting as the primary POC for DCMA interface and collaborating with CoE leadership to develop and implement strategies to address business priorities.
• Assessing critical business and leadership issues to design and implement organization effectiveness solutions that enhance performance.
• Providing change agility expertise, and designing and developing organization change efforts necessary to achieve business long-range strategic plan (LRSP) and annual operating plans (AOP).
• Facilitate organization assessment and development initiatives that foster team effectiveness by designing and conducting executive, management, and project team development and intervention strategies.

 Basic Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor's degree AND 10 years of related professional/military experience within the Aerospace and Defense industry that includes a background in leadership positions, OR a Master’s degree and 8 years of related professional/military experience within the Aerospace and Defense industry that includes a background in leadership positions.
• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed in the last 6 years).
• Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
• Must have a strong background in NAS412 FOE/FOD compliance practices.
• Must have a solid understanding on Non-Destructive Inspection methods and application per the NAS410 standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current Special Program Access (PAR)
• Extensive Leadership experience, preferably within the Aerospace and Defense industry
• 8 years of direct Aerospace Quality experience 
• MS or MBA degree highly preferred
