Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) Sector is seeking an Employee Communications Representative who will be responsible for writing, editing, and preparing internal and external company publications and communications. Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to, selecting, writing, and reviewing editorials and special articles and company presentations. This role will be responsible for understanding technical information and drafting compelling and easily understood messaging for various marketing channels. Developing, recommending, and maintaining editorial policy. Interviewing to obtain items for publication and to verify facts; assigning or approving artwork; and approving final proofs and page layouts, and websites. May coordinate production and distribution activities. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to the Communications Manager, finding new ways to inspire employees around business priorities and culture, and constantly seeks to improve through disciplined measurement, analysis and adjustment. May also plan and execute company sponsored events and various projects across the Communications organization. This position will be based out of Plymouth, Minnesota and can support a hybrid work schedule.

Basic Requirements for Employee Communications Representative:

  • Must have one of the following:
    • High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years of experience managing communications projects, channels or campaigns, drafting communication content, materials and products
    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience managing communications projects, channels or campaigns, drafting communication content, materials and products
    • Master’s degree with a minimum of 1 year of experience managing communications projects, channels or campaigns, drafting communication content, materials and products
  • Superb writing, editing, and content development skills are required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem solving, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Associated Press Style.


Salary Range: $65,000 USD - $97,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
