Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Project Manager Level 3 to lead and oversee the installation of large-scale equipment in our manufacturing facilities. This role requires a strong background in project management, engineering, and construction. With a focus ensuring our installations are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards. The successful candidates will coordinate with multiple stakeholders, manage project timelines, and ensure seamless integration of new equipment into existing operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget forecasts, for large equipment installations.
- Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, production, and procurement, teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines
- Identify project milestones, critical paths, and potential risks, and develop contingency plans to address them.
- Facilitate regular meetings and communications to keep all parties informed of project progress, changes and issues.
- Oversee the installation process from start to finish, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards and project timelines.
- Ensure all installation activities are documented, and that as-build drawings and operating manuals are provided.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented throughout the project.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts and present them to senior management as needed.
- Approve invoices, change orders, and other project related financial documents.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and final inspections to ensure the equipment is installed correctly and functions as intended.
- Proactively identify potential project risks and issues and develop strategies to mitigate or resolve them.
- Implement corrective actions as necessary to keep project on track.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Project Manager (Level 3):
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in the following engineering field: Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautics, Electrical, Process, Production & Manufacturing OR Masters degree in STEM field with 3 years of experience in mentioned fields OR PhD in STEM field with 0 years of experience.
- 3 years of experience in Project Management methodologies and tools, including Gantt charts, project management software systems and risk management
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Clearance
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP or other relevant project management certification is preferred.
- Experience with large-scale equipment installations in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for equipment installation in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to obtain Secret level clearance.
- Experience with presentations to leadership, executive and or management
- Experience in aerospace industry
