Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Employee Communications Representative to join its Strategic Space Systems Division/Space Park Center of Excellence team in Redondo Beach, CA. You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Have a demonstrated understanding of communications and business topics, priorities and trends.

  • Are creative and tech-savvy, and are fascinated by the latest communications tools and technologies.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support our efforts to promote and publicize the company’s culture, people, products and performance to employees – current and future. 

  • Lead and support planning, implementation and evaluation of various employee, functional and leadership communications strategies and tactics in support of the Division’s goals and priorities.

  • Write, edit and distribute strategic and timely business announcements, news items, creative articles and videos.

  • Be a storyteller: Conceptualize, procure and produce a diverse array of editorial content about our people, technologies, successes and business capabilities. Content will range from campus news articles, to interviews, to Q&As, brief/catchy lists, infographics, photo/caption features.

  • Support maintenance of the Division’s and Site’s internal websites, digital signage and other internal communications outlets.

  • Contribute to internal communications-related activities during emergency situations.

  • Support event planning, such as conferences, webcasts and site visits.

  • Help prepare leadership for internal and external events. 

  • Ensure all communications strategies and tactics are consistent with the company’s strategic vision and reflect the Northrop Grumman brand.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university majoring in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing or related field and at least six years of communications, public relations, marketing or closely related experience; or a master's and at least four years of experience
  • Familiarity with social tools, website content management systems, including SharePoint, the Adobe Suite of products is a plus, as is a basic understand of HTML  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Associated Press style guidelines.
  • Experience producing multi-channel editorial content for a newspaper, news channel, video, magazine or other venue is a plus.

  • Active security clearance is another plus. 


Salary Range: 83600 - 125400

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
