Strategic Space Systems Division has an opening for an Electronic Technician 4 – RF Cables to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

Northrop Grumman is one of the leaders in providing first class products to the world. The Electronic Technician 4 – RF Cables performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical and electrical engineers in the development of mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, RF cable assemblies and components. The selected candidate will utilize detailed engineering drawings for fabrication and test of RF cables.
 

Essential Functions:

  • Set-up, Assemble and Test complete flight RF cable assembly and subassemblies under required flight conditions. This includes the assembly of semi-rigid and flex RF cables. Installing RF connectors such as SMA, SMK, MSSS.

  • Works from drawings, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform assembly of flight assemblies.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or (G.E.D) General Education Diploma is required.

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience performing technician responsibilities

  • Experience working from one or more of the following: blueprints, schematics or engineering related drawings including work instructions.   

  • Knowledge of RF Cables using various connectors including SMK, SMA, MSS and/or Circular connectors.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance OR SCI Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to interpret RF cable drawings, terminate and assemble RF cables using thermal tweezers, soldering irons, and performing other various tasks related to flight RF Cable assembly.

  • Experience using basic tools (torque wrenches, soldering irons, wire strippers, etc.)

  • Knowledge and/or experience working in aerospace.

  • Ability to take direction and follow company  procedures and processes

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance OR SCI Access.

  • Flexible and able to support weekend work when necessary

Salary Range: 70700 - 117800

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
