SSSD has an opening for a Contract Administrator 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California and will report to the Program Contract Administrator Manager.

As a Contract Administrator you will be required to deal effectively with competing priorities and deadlines and handle multiple tasks as well as possess the ability to work well with others in high-stress high-volume situations, effectively interface with internal functional and program organizations, effectively deal with external customers to meet program goals/objectives in a timely manner. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations and diverse assignments and excel in collaborative/team settings across all levels.

In this role, the selected candidate will work complex assignments independently and support Finance, Program Management, and various levels of Management, support proposal preparation, support contract negotiation, and contract administration activities from the proposal phase through closeout. The selected incumbent must be a self-starter and able to work collaboratively with team members, including in an advisory role to program management, program stakeholders and the customer. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Administrate daily contract activities for a variety of product lines and contract types, including cost reimbursable and firm fixed; such activities will include, establishing payment terms, initiating, and monitoring invoicing, collections, and funding to support financial objectives
  • Enter and manage data in the financial/delivery system
  • Participate in IPT and customer meetings, performing and monitoring compliance to contract requirements and leading change management process
  • Ensure non-disclosure agreements and contract terms and condition are negotiated within company guidelines
  • Interpret, apply, and follow contract acquisition rules, company policies, and customer terms and specifications
  • Trouble shoot issues and work with various teams to drive tasks to completion efficiently and accurately in a dynamic fast paced environment, report statuses effectively and concisely within a matrixed organization.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate, verbally and written, with both internal and external customers/stakeholders.
  • Conduct change management: ensuring contract is performed to baseline and changes are accounted for and vetted with relevant stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience in any combination of Government contract management, regulatory compliance, contract negotiations or a Master’s Degree and 3 year of stated experience
  • Current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • An advanced degree in a relevant field (JD, MBA, etc.) 
  • Current active US Government Top Secret and/or SSBI/SCI security clearance
  • Recent experience as a Contracts Professional in the defense industry
  • Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations
  • Experience with multiple contract types, particularly firm fixed price contracts
  • Change management experience
  • Experience working with Other Transactional Agreements (OTA)

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows an employee to work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off work.


Salary Range: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
