The Sector Recruitment and Retention Marketing Lead is responsible for partnering across teams within each sector and Corporate to develop and deploy integrated, innovative internal and external communications campaigns that highlight our people and capabilities, including support for our recruitment and retention activities. In addition, the individual will help tell the story of the Northrop Grumman brand and our people, further building the brand awareness and reputation as a leader in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and measure localized dynamic communication strategies that support our recruitment and retention marketing efforts, and in concert with the enterprise campaign.

  • Partner with internal channel leads, including advertising team, social media team, internal communications team, media relations team to develop and deploy integrated communications internally and externally.

  • Apply knowledge of branding and communications channels to deliver effective, integrated messages that increase awareness and understanding of enterprise priorities and initiatives, achievements and inform and inspire employees and our broader communities.

  • Apply user experience practices in all communications; serve as a translator and provide clear, concise storytelling to explain complex concepts to our partners.

  • Participate in the creative process and help manage budget expectations for campaign and deliverable requests.

  • Collect and analyze data, make recommendations to improve our approach and the results of future communications, events and activities.

  • Support local recruitment and retention marketing teams by informing, developing, and editing internal and external communications, including announcements, webcasts, videos, speeches, presentations, media engagements, and more.

  • Manage development of compelling editorial content for employees and potential candidates so they may connect with and understand the Northrop Grumman brand, culture, values, business strategies and initiatives.

  • Manage, assess and improve existing employee communication practices, channels and vehicles to ensure communications efficiently and effectively reach all employees, including employees working in manufacturing and restricted areas.

  • Ensure quality and on-time distribution of broadcast communications to potential candidates and employees, including external marketing/events, leader communications, sector and site newsletters and announcements.  

  • Represent recruitment and retention efforts on Advertising Team and external agency discussions.

  • Partner with program and site communicators to advise on employee communications strategies and tactics.

Individual should have experience in the following:

  • Proven ability to execute complex, integrated communications campaigns with strong attention to detail and a strong understanding of advertising.

  • Experience working at or with an external agency to develop, manage and execute brand and advertising campaigns.

  • Track record of driving projects to completion, managing multiple tasks with competing priorities and handling variable workloads.

  • Ability to develop connections, creating integrated stories and providing the best exposure and experience for candidates, employees, partners and customers.

  • Stellar project management experience, with impeccable attention to detail. Experience with project management tools like Microsoft Teams and Smartsheet a plus.

  • Have great presentation and facilitation skills and can convey vision and approach to others.

  • Possess strong writing skills, have excellent copywriting and editing skills and are familiar with Associated Press Stylebook.

  • Collaborate productively with teams within sectors and across the enterprise.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with six (6) years of experience successfully developing and deploying communications practices or four (4) years of communications experience with Master-level degree.

  • Experience in executing both internal and external strategic communications campaigns.   

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Must possess excellent writing, storytelling, grammar, and proofreading skills, strong problem solving, organizational skills and highly detailed-orientated.

  • Able to collaborate across all levels of the organization.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals with occasional or minimal supervision.

  • Energetic team presence with an eagerness to learn and recommend new and innovative ideas to foster strategic objectives.

This position reports to Redondo Beach, CA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 4 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $72,400 USD - $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
