Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, has an opening for a Industrial Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.
Responsibilities:
Develops and implements plans that ensure the timely availability and effective utilization of labor, facilities, equipment, & tooling resources enabling the achievement of program delivery and cost milestones.
Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.
Develops and summarizes analyses for the acquisition, maintenance & enhancement of capital assets and miscellaneous equipment.
Provides capacity planning, shop-loading and staffing analysis for functional production teams.
Analyzes existing operational processes and develops metrics and reporting to optimize and improve program & operational performance.
Maintains and enhances factory simulation models and uses these models to support what if analyses and capacity planning

Flexible Schedules:Â For example, some roles offer the ability to work a 9/80 work schedule, which allows an employee to work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off of work
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline plus 2 years of engineering experience OR Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 0 years of engineering experience
Experience in using shop floor production systems (Solumina, MES, etc.)
Experience in using ERP systems such as SAP
Proficient in MS Project, Excel or PowerPoint
Ability and willingness to obtain SCI Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with AutoCAD or Visio software
Experience performing Earned Value Management
Experience with data visualization and dashboard creation/ maintenance (Tableau, Power BI)
Report programming experience (SQL, Crystal, MS Query, Bus. Objects, etc.)
Space Technology Experience
Current SCI Clearance and the ability to maintain clearance
Documented experience working in a robust IPT environment
Capacity and scheduling simulation experience (Simio, or other simulation software)
