Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Eagle-3 SC Bus Product Line Lead Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

As the manager you will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. You will ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. You will also perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and manage the Eagle-3 Product Line strategy, marketing and sales in coordination with the Eagle/SV Chief Engineer and SV&PP OU Director

  • Chair the Eagle-3 TRB/CCB (TRB critical decisions decided by Eagle/SV CE)

  • Lead SSSD Combat Bus Representative and coordinator

  • Collaborate with programs and pursuits to develop, win, and protect strategies, perform independent reviews 

  • Coordinate with Space Vehicle Directors on Eagle-3 programs (existing & potential/proposed) Manage Eagle-3 CPSLs (Cross Program Subsystem Leads) to continue to develop subsystem product lines; reduce overall bus costs (existing and future platforms)

  • Coordinate and participate with relevant S/C Bus BST’s and TSSD Product Line owners as part of S/C Bus Strategic construct

  • Coordinate with functional homeroom on staffing needs for Eagle-3 

  • Develop AOP/LRSP Eagle-3 projections and coordinate yearly investment (NCTA, Capital, Facilities, Engineering, DTC, BU’s, Sector Pool) needs with Eagle Manager & SV product leads

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline

  • 9 Years of experience within Vehicle Engineering disciplines

  • 5 years experience as a Manager leading a team or as an IPT Lead

  • Experience marketing and/or supporting vehicle product lines

  • Active Top Secret

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and/or Business Degree

  • CAM Certification

  • Experience marketing and presenting to executive leadership

  • Participation in multiple design cycles in spacecraft development programs

  • Experience as a Product Champion, or working with Product Champion teams


Salary Range: $171,000 USD - $256,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
