The Operations Product and Planning lead will be the de-facto technical expert on Mission Operations, Early On orbit and Launch Support and Development for the program. The lead will provide technical and personnel leadership to the following focus areas and development team:Mission Ops Planning and enterprise Operations Planning from early program development out to launch. • Leadership in Early On-Orbit Launch, Activation, On-Orbit Test, and Operational timeline development and operations, test plan development, work instructions and Operations support plan development
• Mathematical Algorithm Requirement Spec (MARS) architecture and management for Mission Unique Software, Sensor Specific Processing, and SV C2 Simulator, including leadership of the team that develops Operational MARS
• Operations Database architecture and development for the Mission Operations Database and Operational inputs into the Master Command and Telemetry Database
• Limitations and Constraints identification process, review board and database and document development
• Development of an Operations Training Plan
• Support to Enterprise Operations planning
• Identification and implementation of lessons learned and best practices in operational products
• Operational Requirement identification and flow-down

The lead will be entrusted with developing and executing system level operational objectives and reporting technical and programmatic progress to leadership. The lead will lead a small team of engineers who will report up into this position. This role will report cost and schedule performance to the business manager and System Integration manager. The right candidate will be able to create and develop the Mission Operations and Early Launch processes, procedures, planning and execution from the start with few references.Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field and 15 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment OR Masters of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field and 12 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment OR Doctorate of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field and 9 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment 
  • Leadership and Early Program Planning experience
  • Launch and Early Ops Experience
  • Experience working with early program development
  • Experience working cross IPT and with the customer
  • Experience in developing and working with  schedules, and budgets for Operations Planning
  • Ability obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance


Salary Range: $156,000 USD - $234,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
