Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will leverage practical experience relating to Mass Properties in support of conceptual weights analysis across multiple projects within the Advanced Design portfolio.  This will include coordination/collaboration across IPTs to develop vehicle weight estimates while providing guidance to the air vehicle team on design changes that would lead to future weight savings.  The ideal candidate will also be expected to provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior teammates while executing his/her own technical assignments.  To be successful, the candidate must possess practical experience/knowledge relating to aircraft design and operations. 

  

Essential Functions: 

  • Develop parametric Mass Properties models in support of conceptual vehicle sizing studies for advanced Unmanned Air Vehicles
  • Support vehicle design trade study tasks in conjunction with multiple team members working to solve complex vehicle design challenges.
  • The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
     

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5 years engineering related experience, OR Master’s in STEM with 3 years of experience
  • Experience with conceptual weight analysis practices
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office with good technical writing skills and the ability to communicate and present technical material to various stakeholders.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Design experience relating to the development of advanced Air Vehicles concepts
  • Familiarity with SAWE RP-7 and RP-8 Weight Control Processes
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
  • A current active in-scope U.S. Government issued DoD Top Secret security clearance, and current or previous Special Program Access (SPA/PAR) is preferred.

Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
