Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.   

Position Overview:  

This successful candidate will be supporting the Advanced Autonomy Team in the South Bay to help realize a vision for future autonomous capabilities across NGAS. They will be responsible for leading MBSE architecture, processes, and tools. In addition, they will drive team adoption of digital engineering practices and define a roadmap to utilize government reference architectures, open standards, and common tools as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of relevant experience; OR 7 years experience with a Master's degree.
  • Expert level MBSE knowledge (including Cameo toolset) – can lead this MBSE work in collaboration across the sector. Ability to analyze architectures and develop various DODAF or SysML Viewpoints in support of this effort. Will be responsible for system architecture, requirement analysis and functional decomposition.  
  • Knowledge of UAV architectures, to support driving the trade off decisions on functional allocation of capabilities across major UAV components (control segment, VMS, MMS); with segmentation of mission critical; safety critical; and flight critical domains.
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain program access to major efforts in the sector.  (most work will be unclassified, but the lead must be clearable to things in time).

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience with ABMS/JADC2, COMSA, CoreVMS, and Autonomous Systems.  
  • Rhapsody toolset knowledge – or ability to stitch in the COMSA modeling work, which is done in Rhapsody.
  • Current program access to major efforts in the AS sector. 

Salary Range: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
