Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

Northrop Grumman is an industry leader in Stealth Technology. Our Aeronautics Systems software team develops, integrates, and supports software for manned and unmanned aircraft. We are developing state-of-the-art software technologies that utilize Graphics Processor Units (GPU), supercomputers, and other advanced hardware for modeling & simulation, vehicle design optimization, and aircraft integrated technologies.

Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector team is seeking a talented and highly motivated Software Engineer to continue advancement in our leading-edge software for our most advanced systems. This project involves the design and demonstration of algorithms in hands on environments through the use of surrogate aircraft and software simulations.

The ideal candidate will have software development experience in C++ programming, CUDA development, GUI development, complex algorithm development, and hands-on HW/SW integration skills in a lab and demonstration environment.

Primary responsibilities will be design, development, integration and testing of software systems. This person must enjoy working in a fast paced and dynamic team environment. They should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This position offers multiple opportunities to work with other highly energetic team members both within the immediate team as well as coordinate collaborative development across projects and teams.

***This requisition may be filled at either a Software Engineer level or Principal Software Engineer level ***

Basic Qualifications Engineer Software:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of experience; OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a STEM related discipline from an accredited university

- Candidate must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance

- Proficient in C++

- Experience using Linux

Basic Qualifications Principal Engineer Software:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of experience; OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a STEM related discipline from an accredited university with 3 years of experience

- Candidate must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance

- Proficient in C++

- Experience using Linux

Preferred Qualifications:

- Must enjoy working in a fast paced and dynamic team environment-

Proficient in C++11

- Current Department of Defense Secret or Top Secret level security clearance

- CUDA experience optimizing algorithms

- Relevant experience in user interface development

- Experience with software design for manned and / or unmanned vehicles

- Experience in programming and scripting languages

- Experience with Agile development processes

- Able to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and development environments

- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Flight test experience


Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
