SSSD has an opening for a System Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

Essential Function:

Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedule for completing systems, and coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program needs.

Electrical Test Engineer to support Communication System programs. Candidate will need experience in ATS (Automated Test Sequence) and procedure writing and help run day to day floor activities. Candidate will also work closely with Lead TE and system Engineering to develop new test cases and troubleshoot any anomalies. The Test Engineer will participate in all phases of integration and test of a payload subsystem. Candidate must be willing to travel > 70% of the time starting Q4 of 2023. DoD Secret clearance preferred. May also require to work overtime and weekends depending on the test phase.

Basic Qualification

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field plus 3 to 4 years of engineering experience.

  • Electrical Test procedure writing, authorizing, and execution

  • Run day to day floor activities on Flight payloads including create, update, and execute Automated Test Scripts (ATS)

  • Work closely with Lead Test Engineer and Systems Engineering to develop new test cases, review test data, and troubleshoot any anomalies

  • Participate in all phases of the integration and test of a payload subsystem and cross-team collaboration

  • Some shift work and travel might be required

  • Must be able to travel more than 75% of the time to support offsite testing

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in Space Electrical System Level Testing, Integration & Test.

  • Active DOD Secret Clearance.


Salary Range: $74,900 USD - $112,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
