The Consolidated Operations & Anomaly Support Team (COAST) has an immediate need for a Sub-Project Manager (SPM) in their ground systems System Integration & Test (SIT) software area for a large restricted program. The SPM will manage a team of 10 to 15 software test engineers.  The technical manager must possess excellent leadership, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills, and work closely with the Software leadership team including the Software Assistant Program Manager (APM) and Deputy APM. The candidate will be responsible for directing all aspects of the Sub-Project’s software tasking, including tasking members of the team, developing cross training plans, providing LOE-based staffing estimates, and planning for critical test events. This position requires coordination and interfacing with the other SW Sub-Projects, Systems Engineering, external customers, and site personnel. Candidate will work in a dynamic team environment, ensuring personnel follow well-defined processes. The candidate must have the ability to complete tasks with minimal direction and oversight as well as mentor junior engineers.  Ability to travel to locations to lead and participate in test events is optional, but preferred.

  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current SCI access or current DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access prior to start date
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 9 years of relevant work experience; Master's Degree in STEM with 7 years of relevant work experience; PhD in STEM with 4 years of relevant work experience; an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience leading a team of software engineers in software development deliverables, testing and overall processes
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Software experience in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with internal and external customers
  • Experience with COAST software design and code
  • Scripting experience in PERL and Python
  • 5+ years of previous management experience as a Deputy SPM or Technical Lead is a plus
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
  • Understanding of DevOps ideas and principals
  • Agile SW development methodology

Salary Range: $143,500 USD - $215,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
