We are seeking a Material and Process Engineering Mgr 2, to work in either Space Park / Redondo Beach, CA or Palmdale, CA. The M&P Mgr will support the 1st shift, 9/80 work schedule.

The M&P Section Manager is responsible for the F35 M&P organization which performs materials, and process engineering/management across the F35 Program supporting all aspects of design and production integration.  This person is responsible for the selection, qualification, processing, and testing of all M&P employed to meet mission requirements.  The applicant will have a strong background in the parts, materials, and assembly processes as this background is necessary to support design, fabrication, and integration activities.  

In addition to technical qualifications, the F35 M&P Section Manager must possess excellent communication skills as they will be the primary M&P interface with multiple subcontractors as well as with program and customer management.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading technical teams on complex and large integration programs along with a strong background in materials and process engineering.  This role also includes functional management and CAM oversight responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Material Science, OR Materials Engineering, OR Chemical Engineering, or closely related technical discipline with a minimum 9 years relevant work experience to include Leadership and PM&P on large military programs or similar.

  • Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance level


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in Program/Functional Leadership on technical teams

  • 6 years of experience in Parts, Materials and Processes (PM&P) type work on large military programs or similar”
  • Experience managing cost, schedule and performance of large government technical statements of work

  • Experience in Materials selection and qualification for Aeronautics program

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills of the English language is desired


Salary Range: $130,500 USD - $195,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
