Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for an Associate Structural Analysis or Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. In Vehicle Engineering, we develop manned and unmanned aircraft platforms for all of the programs in the Aerospace Systems Sector

These positions will be located in Redondo Beach, CA and will be working a 9/80A work schedule (week 1, Monday – Thursday, Friday off, week 2, Monday - Friday)

We are looking for Engineers who might have specific structural engineering specialties which may include statics/dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Your day-to-day activities will be to analyze, research and develop structural engineering analysis packages primarily involving metallic structural materials for product design, or operation of product. This might include structures, mechanical, and hydraulic/electrical routings designs. You will analyze static strength, damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural finite element modeling.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering with 1 - 5 years of experience performing structural analysis (master’s degree may count towards an additional 2 years of experience)
  • Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace structural analysis experience using NASTRAN, PATRAN, or FEMAP.
  • Experience with analysis of metallic structure and repair methods
  • Experience in structural testing (building block or full-scale test)
  • Analysis experience in a MRB role
  • Experience working on military aircraft
  • Experience with durability and damage tolerance (DaDT) of aircraft structures

Salary Range: $68,100 USD - $102,100 USD
Salary Range 2: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
