Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Manager Facilities Maintenance 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

Responsibilities and duties to include but are not limited to:

  • Manages a program or a function within the larger organizational unit, setting & operating to objectives & providing guidance to subordinates based on goals, objectives & company policy.

  • Planning, risk management, and project performance addressing cost, schedule, and technical quality for related Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements on a large system development-type contract or full responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a large technical services-type contract Guidance Given, Assignments Received Assignments are received in objective oriented terms.

  • Provides guidance to subordinates based on organizational goals and company policy.

  • Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organizations objectives and schedules.

  • Knowledge and Technical Skills Advanced level of understanding in a specialized field or general understanding of several diverse disciplines.

  • Involves a broad grasp of involved practices and procedures Decision Making Regularly requires analysis of alternative courses of action.

  • Decisions have risk/reward implications for program or area of influence Direct Work Involvement Responsible for all projects assigned to the organizational group.

  • Advisor to lower level managers and exempt employees.

  • Helps meet established schedules or resolve technical or operational problems.

  • Policy Involvement Establishes operating procedures that affect organizational unit(s).

  • Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to organizational policies.

  • Establishes operating policies and procedures that affect subordinate organizational units.

  • Financial Develops and administers budgets and standards of performance

  • Subject to approval, modifies the organizational structure of centralized functions and units.

  • Operations Involvement / Direct Work Involvement Responsible for all projects assigned to the organizational unit.

  • Acts as an advisor to subordinate supervisors or staff members to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems.

  • Directly participates in establishing and administering many centralized functional projects.

  • Liaison Frequent contact with equivalent level managers and customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, or contractual clarifications.

  • Conducts briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of related experience; OR a Master's degree with 5+ years' of related experience; OR 11 + years of experience in lieu of a degree

  • Previous experience managing maintenance trades and/or vendor contracts

  • Leadership experience working in collaboration across multiple organizations, contracts, and/or customer relationships

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance at the Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years, OR must have and be able to maintain an active U.S. Government SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in all areas of Facilities Maintenance operations

  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership

  • Ability to develop and present material outside the immediate work function

  • Proven positive impact on employee engagement activities across program and functional organizations

  • Proven financial, schedule, subcontract management, technical performance, and execution experience

  • Experience supporting multiple different review teams

  • Familiar with a variety of aerospace and/or similar industry production equipment and manufacturing facilities infrastructure

  • Experience with CAD/3D design and/or ability to read and interpret blue prints

  • An active U.S. Government security clearance at the Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years, OR an active U.S. Government SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years.


Salary Range: $128,400 USD - $192,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
