Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist Level 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals for the Strategic Space Systems Division, Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization at our Redondo Beach, CA location.

This position is to help GSC PM address program wide GSC issues. These issues may be tasks flowed down from the program office or there may be critical concerns that require special attention.


  • Support GSC program wide activities and ensure material needs are met

  • Work with various performing functions (both internal and external) in support of reducing delivery disconnects

  • Perform deep dive on process bottlenecks and issues

  • Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements

  • Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools

  • Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements

  • Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments

  • Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs

  • Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts

  • Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of relevant experience; 4 years with a Master’s

  • Must have 2 + years of GSC related experience

  • Must have at least 1 year of SAP experience

  • Must have the ability to operate with minimum supervision

  • Ability to obtain a SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SSSD & SAP experience preferred

  • SCI clearance is preferred

Salary Range: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
