Strategic Space Systems Division has an opening for an Production Planning and Scheduler to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

This position is to support program hardware and software procurement in Redondo Beach, CA. Responsibilities will include looking up pricing and gathering quotes as well as entering items that are listed on engineering drawing’s BOMs into Engineering Property System (EPS) so buyers can issue Purchase Orders. Forms as waivers may also be required for certain purchases, such as Single Sole Source Justification (SSJ), IT Waivers forms and Chemical Review Surveys. All hardware and software deliveries will need to align with the schedule of the IMS.

Description:  Plans, prepares, issues and coordinates material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet program schedules. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and prepares work orders or purchase requests for the purchase of components or parts based on program schedule, shop load and inventory requirements. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.  Works closely with customers and continuously provides status as requested.  Attends meetings and provides status and other pertinent information. Acts as procurement liaison focal point to management, engineering, and planning functions.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

    Basic Qualification

    • 3 Years Minimum Experience with Bachelors; 1 Years with Masters

    • Familiar MS Office suite

    • DFARS Knowledge

    • SAP knowledge

    Preferred Qualification

    • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and proficiency in MS Office suite, property related electronic tools and business applications.


    Salary Range: $61,400 USD - $92,000 USD

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
