SSSD has an opening for a Technical Operations Lead to join our Radiation Effects team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

Role and Responsibilities:

The Radiation Test Operations (RTO) Laboratory Technical Operations Lead will manage, coordinate, and engage in one or more segments of the organization's day-to-day operations in an Electronics Test Engineering environment. RTO Technical Operations personnel have generalist responsibilities that support broader laboratory activities.

Responsibilities are typically diverse and vary according to the organization's changing needs; this discipline is not typically classified into a single Function (e.g., Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.)

- Procures, expedites, routes, and/or dispatches material, equipment, and parts in accordance with testing schedules and commitments.

- Reviews master testing schedule to determine possible and actual shortages and alerts proper authorities of potential problems.

- Generates progress reports on schedule status and keeps records of completed orders.

- Takes appropriate action to expedite materials such as shipments to test facilities or in-house material transportation.

- Reports on completion dates, material changes or substitutions, shortages, and schedule modifications.

- Serve as a liaison between project teams, company stakeholders (e.g. Security, Facilities, Maintenance, Environmental Health & Safety, etc.), external vendors/customers, functional management, and occasionally program management to achieve success in the above activities.

- Works with Test Engineers, Test Technicians, and other Technical Operations Leads to coordinate adjudication of verbal or written requests for support

- Occasionally operates cranes, pallet jacks, and other various lift equipment

- Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Basic Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous experience in an electronics laboratory environment is preferred

- DoD Security Clearance Preferred

Knowledge or experience with any of the following is a plus:

- Use of Asset Management Systems such as SAP, AssetSmart, etc.

- Use of Travel Management Systems such as Concur, etc.

Salary Range: $50,000 USD - $83,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
