Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Retrofit Project Manager/ Retrofit Principal Project Manager, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Redondo Beach, CA.

Essential Functions:

  • Focused support within the F-35 Fleet Modifications (FM) Team to fulfill various project planning, status reporting, and augmented Cost Account Management (CAM) responsibilities

  • Support the FM Team Manager to accomplish a variety of precise, time-sensitive, and high-quality monthly deliverables, metrics, and presentations

  • Responsibilities include collecting, editing, and preparing incremental accomplishment data, reports, and metrics; assessing team performance to plan and defining estimate to complete projections; development of team labor charging recommendations; determining earned value variance causes, explanations, and corrective recommendations/actions

  • Proposal response Basis of Estimate development, reviews, and submissions 

  • Develop and maintain long term staffing forecasts and coordination within the team as a focal point to enable efficient collaboration with other functional organizations 

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills 

  • Position requires a resourceful, independent self-starter able to analyze and solve CAM derived objectives involving solicitations of and commitments from various stakeholders

Basic Qualifications for Project Manager:

  • Bachelor degree with 3 yearsexperience; OR a Master’s degree with 1 years’ experience

  • Solid background and understanding of Project Management fundamentals   

  • Proficient in applying Cost Account Management/Earned Value principles

  • Adept in developing products in MS Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point

  • Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and leadership skills

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Manager:

  • Bachelor degree with 6 yearsexperience; OR a Master’s degree with 4 years’ experience

  • Solid background and understanding of Project Management fundamentals   

  • Proficient in applying Cost Account Management/Earned Value principles

  • Adept in developing products in MS Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point

  • Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and leadership skills

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cost Account Management / Professional Logistics Accreditation(s)

  • MS Access proficiency (creating queries, forms, reports, and code/VBA)

  • Six Sigma Certification / Facilitation experience

  • Agile Certification / Facilitation experience

  • F-35 Familiarity

  • Current Active Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $68,100 USD - $102,100 USD
Salary Range 2: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
