The selected candidate will lead multi-disciplinary teams to support the capture and execution of Hypersonic Weapon Design and Demonstration Programs.  The candidate will report to the Director of Advanced Weapons within the Research & Advanced Design organization.

Essential Functions:

This position will be responsible for collaborating with internal and cross-sector business and technical leadership to develop and organize hypersonic weapon concepts and applications of technology to support NGC corporate weapon campaign growth opportunities.

Applicant should have experience with management of cost, schedule and technical performance of programs. Experience in hypersonic system design or an advanced design environment is required.  Able to establish achievements and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify program technical challenges and obtain solutions such as reallocation of resources or changing the contractual specifications. Experience with preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Able to support the negotiation of contract and contract changes.

The selected candidate will manage a team of individuals with varied skill sets to include, but not be limited to, technical and project engineering functions.  Responsibilities include:

  • Developing proposals and supporting contract negotiations
  • Managing and for NCTA and contracted work
  • Reporting status to internal and external stakeholders
  • Casting strategic vision towards capturing emerging hypersonic weapon technology and weapon system contract awards

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with a minimum of 9+ years engineering experience or a Master’s in a STEM related field and 7+ years engineering experience
  • Program management and/or business development experience.
  • Current DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS and SCI clearance.
  • Knowledge of aerospace system conceptual design, risk reduction, demonstration process

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with hypersonic weapons or hypersonic air vehicles
  • Excellent at written and oral communications.
  • Possess a strong ability to establish and develop inter-personal relationships.
  • Must be able to work independently, function in a fast-paced environment, and be flexible to changing direction.
  • 20 years technical and program management experience
  • Master’s degree in STEM related discipline
  • Proposal preparation and leadership experience.
  • Possess high technical credibility in hypersonics knowledge and/or program management to engage with internal and external customers
  • Strong skills
  • >10 years experience in hypersonic weapon design and demonstration programs
  • SAP Access

Salary Range: $171,000 USD - $256,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
