Explore your future and launch your career today.   Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for an Administrative Assistant 4 to support the AMP Payload Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.   The successful applicant will function under minimal supervision, provide a full spectrum of administrative support and general secretarial services for the supported individuals and organizations.  Duties and tasks are varied and complex, including but not limited to:
  • Coordinating and making travel arrangements
  • Completing and processing expense reports
  • Ordering and managing office supplies
  • Assisting with general meeting scheduling, ordering food, and set-up
  • Proofing and tailoring presentation packages
  • Answering phones and taking messages
  • Resolving calendar conflicts with other administrators
  • Maintaining currency on company policies and procedures related to time keeping, expense reporting, travel processes, etc.
  • Assisting in event planning and activities of major organization initiatives and reviews
  • Supporting and coordinating team engagement activities
  The successful candidate must be proactive, well-organized, detail-oriented, and dependable, and have the ability to multitask and prioritize with minimal supervision. He/she must be a team player, possess effective verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, working across all levels of management and employees.  The position requires a high degree of professionalism, presence, flexibility, diplomacy, judgment, discretion, and the ability to be assertive while exercising tact.  This person must have the ability to filter high traffic correspondences and contacts and prioritize items for the Project Manager to address.  The position requires strict confidentiality while performing a wide variety of sensitive administrative and support tasks

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and 6 years administrative or other related experience.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint to execute duties as defined in the role responsibilities.
  • Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances:
    • Dept of Defense Top Secret level with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
    • OR SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
    • OR Dept of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree and 10 years of administrative or other related experience
  • Experience supporting a Director level position and a large team of employees
  • Experience with Concur, or similar travel and expense reporting system
  • Knowledge of iTrip and international travel tools
