The Communications function at Northrop Grumman’s historic Space Park campus in Redondo Beach, CA is looking for a Web Management Specialist with the creative chops to rethink how we use intranet/internet sites to engage with our audiences, and the technical skills to turn those ideas into working solutions.
In this role, you’ll help transform our classified and unclassified intranet properties into information-rich, frequently updated employee engagement resources. You’ll also ensure our externally-facing web pages are catalogued, properly maintained, content-rich and regularly refreshed with the latest news and information.
The ideal candidate is a web development and content management system expert with demonstrated experience building, implementing and managing large-scale internal and external web properties. You should also have an eye for good graphic design and the technical skills to produce it.
What you’ll do:
• Develop plans for an intranet refresh, including site structure, navigation and content recommendations
• Coordinate the creation and maintenance of an engaging visual design and theme for the intranet
• Lead day-to-day intranet operations, including site administration and content planning/creation
• Work closely with Employee Communications, Information Technologies and other key stakeholders, involving them in planning, implementation and ongoing content production
• Develop and manage the intranet content calendar
• Ensure proper coordination with the Information Technology team for software support and upgrades
• Employ continuous improvement methodologies to ensure intranet uses up-to-date technologies
• Oversee proper use of intranet for organizational news and information
• Use analytics to evaluate content performance and recommend improvement strategies
• Serve as an advisor for how we improve internal communications and delivery via the intranet
• Inventory all pages on corporate external website that originated from our business unit, determine which team member is responsible for content on those pages, assess current status of content on those pages, and implement an ongoing reporting system that ensures all pages are updated on a regular basis
Skills you’ll need:
• Intermediate knowledge of web development tools, HTML, scripting and CSS
• Intermediate understanding of systems integration
• Expertise in/familiarity with SharePoint for intranet applications
• Knowledge of web services and services-oriented architecture is desirable
• Strong intranet management experience, including working within a content management system
• Experience in content development and execution strategies
• Strong writing skills
• Understanding of software and hardware requirements of varied departmental systems
• High level of comfort with social software and other web-based technologies
• A high level of attention to detail
• Basic graphic design experience
• Ability to think strategically, apply organizational skills and work in a collaborative team environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work with senior business leaders and across different stakeholder groups to drive consensus

• A bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of web design/web management, graphic design, or closely related experience; or a master’s degree and 1 or more years of web design/web management, graphic design, or closely related experience. Will consider 4 additional years of experience in lieu of the degree.

• Must be a U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
• A bachelor’s degree and 6 or more years of web design/web management, graphic design, or closely related experience; or a master’s degree and 4 or more years of web design/web management, graphic design, or closely related experience.
