Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems has an opening for a Manager Systems Engineering 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA. The selected candidate will perform the Mission Payload Systems Engineering Manager role, which is a dual-hat Engineering Manager responsible for both section management (15 - 20% of time) and existing program responsibilities (80% or more of time). Along with reporting into a program, the Section Manager is also a member of the Communications and Mission Payload Systems Engineering (SE) organization with responsibilities to perform resource planning and staffing; employee engagement, staff development, including skills training and career support; performance management, including employee goal setting, annual reviews, and issues resolution. The Section Manager is also responsible for the deployment, measurement, and improvement of tailored, lean SE processes and procedures and supporting product cost reduction strategies. The Section Manager will be a functional management point of contact at the work sites for the Mission Payload SE department and will support and implement activities supporting departmental initiatives, reporting directly to the Mission Payload Systems Engineering department manager. Team size will be from 10-15 direct reports. Basic Qualifications:  - Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 5+ years of engineering experience (3+ with a MS) - Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance - Prior experience as a manager or a team lead
Preferred Qualifications: - Active SCI clearance - MSEE with emphasis in Communication Systems - 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering
