Enjoy a diverse, collaborative environment with professionals across the nation ready to help launch your career.  Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) Human Resources is seeking a Manager, Culture & People Operations to join the Organization Effectiveness (OE) team.  The selected candidate will lead a small team of specialists focused on partnering with key stakeholders on efforts that contribute toward building the best culture, promote engagement and drive empowerment/agility in the sector.  This individual will also provide operational support to enable the talent strategies and priorities for NGAS Human Resources. The Manager, Culture & People Operations will have a unique opportunity align operational responsibilities with strategic initiatives through in this newly created role that will report to the sector Director, OE and will be a key member of the OE leadership team.  In this role, the selected candidate is expected to:
  • With guidance from the OE director, develop a short to mid-range plan focused on culture, engagement and organization change initiatives that align with the talent priorities and business needs of the sector
  • Assess organizational needs and develop fit-for-purpose solutions to increase team and organization effectiveness and drive systemic, cultural and leadership change across the business
  • Provide subject matter expertise in change management, engagement, facilitation and other organization interventions
  • Oversee the employee engagement survey, including analyzing and recommending actions for the sector to build best culture, including supporting efforts to increase overall agility, empowerment and operational efficiency within the sector
  • Provide operations support to the HR Vice President and HR Senior Leadership Team by applying broad-based knowledge of Human Resources, business acumen and systems thinking to support planning/tracking of priorities, proactive integration of efforts, resolution of various issues as needed, and acting as a partner to execute against outcomes
  • Ensure optimized resource planning and allocation to achieve expected outcomes and objectives; applies project management discipline to ensure projects are on time, on budget and on quality
  • Manage, coach, develop and drive engagement for staff; mentor and coach other members of the extended OE team
  • Other responsibilities as needed, including ad hoc project management and issue resolution activities

  Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Business or related discipline
  • At least 5 years of Human Resources experience in a business client-facing role
  • Experience as a Human Resources Business Partner or HR Center of Excellence (CoE) specialist advising, influencing and consulting with clients and demonstrated knowledge of the HR disciplines
   Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Professional certifications relevant to HR, OD, change management, human capital performance consulting or other relevant fields 
  • Strong business acumen and broad based knowledge of Human Resources
  • Grounds solutions in theory but able to balance with simplicity and elegance for impactful and practical implementation
  • Self-starter and driven individual who is resourceful and resilient
  • Is agile and solution oriented
  • Strong ethics and values with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent relationship builder with a track record of forging collaborative partnerships to influence direction and drive change to meet specific business outcomes
  • Strong systems thinking capability
  • Ability to influence without direct authority
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong people leadership skills including helping connect people’s efforts to the bigger picture, creative an inclusive work environment, valuing diversity and interest in helping to motivate leaders and employees reach their full potential
