Northrop Grumman is in need of a Manager 1 of Supply Chain at its Alleghany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL) location in Rocket Center, WV.

 Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Ensures a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
  • Provides direction and motivates employees on a project basis, guided by established practices and precedents.
  • Interprets, executes, and makes modifications to practices that affect his or her direct reports.
  • Schedules work, leads, develops, and trains direct reports while maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Administers and complies with union contract, trains new employees and new processes obtained for the group.
  • Provides sound judgement and ensures overall quality of work and efficiency of the department.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent follow-up.
  • Will operate passenger vehicles to transport materials on company property.
  • Form partnerships and act as an agent between Shipping Department and other functional groups.

Other Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Lead internal and external audits for the Shipping Department.
  • Oversee employees, processes and equipment in Supply Chain warehouses including
  • Powder Service – perform and/or oversee the receipt, issuing and delivery of product throughout plant.
  • Electric Fuzes (432B) – oversee Supply Chain functions and provide support to operations.
  • Perform receiving duties such as: auditing, preparing, and verifying paperwork.
  • Assist with inbound and outbound carrier traffic coordination.
  • Conduct and/or represent Supply Chain at daily SQDEC’s.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts, assist with random auditing, requesting adjustments as needed to correct discrepancies.
  • Provide coverage for other Supply Chain supervision.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years’ experience, Masters Degree with 4+ years’ experience or 10+ years of experience within the Supply Chain specifically the traffic coordination field.
  • Experience in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). 
  • Experience with one or more transportation management systems.
  • Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a Security Clearance (required).
  • Current on DOT regulations.
  • Excellent attendance record with ability to work flexible hours to meet overtime requirements.
  • Experience in Costpoint, Cognos and Solumina preferred.

Salary Range: $85,400 USD - $128,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
