Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a iReturn Software Engineer.
The qualified applicant will join a cohort of employees re-entering the workforce after a career break of at least two years. This cohort will receive special on-boarding designed to provide an effective re-entry into the workforce. iReturn
provides experienced professionals with a 12-week "returnship" to prepare for a full-time career in one of several fields at Northrop Grumman through training, professional development and networking opportunities. Qualified applicants will join a cohort of employees returning to the workforce after a 2+ career break for this "returnship" program that focuses on giving you a seamless transition back into the workforce. This cohort program will approximately run from August - December and prepare candidates for an effective re-entry into the workforce. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be eligible for full-time roles with the company.

The Software & Digital Technologies (SWDT) team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a candidate to join a growing community of engineering professionals in the greater Chicago region at the Rolling Meadows, IL site.

The qualified applicant will support full life-cycle product development of Radio Frequency Electronic Warfare (RFEW), Infrared Counter Measures (IRCM) and Advanced Target & Surveillance (ATS) Systems. This includes RF
countermeasures, IR countermeasures, airborne imaging and tracking, and various PC based applications. Applications include read-time control, target class/detect/tracking, data acquisition and analysis, signal processing, intelligence data cross-correlation, image processing, database management, and GUI development. The assignments possible within the role include requirements analysis and system architecture, coding, design and verification using state of the art tools and techniques and utilize the Agile development framework and Model Based Engineering.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
- 4+ years professional experience and a current career break of at least two years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to translate system performance and operational specifications into software requirements, design, and test specifications
- Working knowledge in programming embedded software using: Object Oriented C++ 11 or above
- Working knowledge in operating system concepts for embedded systems such as Embedded Linux, Yocto, and VxWorks
- Ability to test, debug and integrate on embedded systems
- Working knowledge in using requirement management, configuration management and change management tools.
- Familiarity with Agile Framework and Tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Rally)
