Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking an iReturn Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Rolling Meadows, IL location.
    

The qualified applicant will join a cohort of employees re-entering the workforce after a career break of at least two years. This cohort will receive special on-boarding designed to provide an effective re-entry into the workforce. iReturn℠ provides experienced professionals with a 12-week "returnship" to prepare for a full-time career in one of several fields at Northrop Grumman through training, professional development and networking opportunities. Qualified applicants will join a cohort of employees returning to the workforce after a 2+ career break for this "returnship" program that focuses on giving you a seamless transition back into the workforce. This cohort program will approximately run from August - November and prepare candidates for an effective re-entry into the workforce. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be eligible for full-time roles with the company.

The Manufacturing Process Engineer performs tasks that contribute to the completion of program execution for one or more programs to meet the requirements of the contract(s) and business.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Overall Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities include:
• Support transition of technologies from design to production
• Create engineering documentation (change notices, parts lists, bills of materials, test reports, test procedures)
• Support the production floor and test technicians
• Troubleshoot production hardware to determine root cause of failures and identify corrective actions
• Work with suppliers to resolve technical hardware issues
• Create and analyze metrics to target cost improvements
• Apply continuous improvement techniques to drive down costs and improve production efficiency
Process Engineers will develop and establish new processes, plan sequences of operations and generate work instructions, develop and introduce new tooling and equipment to improve processes, and provide technical guidance to the production process technicians pertaining to failure analysis, process methodology, corrective action, and continuous improvement.
 

Basic Qualifications:

-       Qualified STEM Degree (Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics or equivalent).

-       6+ years of professional experience and a current career break of at least two years.

-       Experience with continuous improvement and troubleshooting.

-       Experience presenting complex technical concepts to non-technical personnel.

-       Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance, US Citizenship required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

-        Prior experience in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent field

-        Experience with data mining / correlation studies

-        Networking and troubleshooting test stations and hardware

-        Experience with MATLAB, C++, National Instruments Labwindows/CVI and/or   Labview

-        Experience in working on business or engineering full life-cycle projects from project inception through launch

-       Experience with Microsoft Project

-       Experience with CAD programs

-       Experience with Earned Value Management

Salary Range: $75,100 USD - $125,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
