Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Business Development Manager for fixed-wing markets, focused on US Air Force and Joint Services, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Rolling Meadows, IL.  Other work locations and arrangements may be considered.

Reporting to the Fixed Wing Director of Business Development, within Strategy & Mission Solutions, the individual will lead efforts to identify, prioritize, develop, and provide fixed-wing mission solutions, to include aircraft survivability, electronic warfare, and targeting program opportunities.  Programs of interest focus on Air Force opportunities to include both new starts and development/mission expansion of existing programs. The individual selected will be responsible for the development and assessment of new opportunities for aircraft survivability, electronic warfare, and targeting systems and their integration and operation within target customers’ operational requirements, and development and maturation of contact plans with customer organizations and influencers to develop new and expanded business opportunities. The individual is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for identifying and maturing initial capture targets, market/mission expansion within and among the U.S. Allies, and effectively marketing the business unit’s products and capabilities to meet customer needs, thereby translating business opportunities into contact plans, strategic win themes, and supporting capture teams and wins. The individual will work with and collaborate with a team of business developers and other integrated program team members including all required functions in the Northrop Grumman Corporation, primes, teammates and subcontractors to develop and implement win strategies, compliant with Northrop Grumman’s business acquisition process.

 Qualifications

 Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in U.S. defense markets with focus on U.S. Government systems
  • An understanding of U.S. Government customer requirements, acquisition processes, and organizations.
  • Ability to obtain DOD Secret or TS clearance
  • Knowledge in interfacing with Air Force or Joint Service leadership/command structure
  • Candidate should have proven experience in the establishment of new customer relationships with the objective of identifying customer needs and technology roadmaps to establish new opportunities for market/business expansion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master of Science in STEM, or MBA Degree
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in U.S. defense markets, focused on U.S. Government aircraft survivability/electronic warfare systems (IRCM, RFCM, missile warning, RWR), EO/IR systems, or tactical radars/weapons
  • Experience in U.S. Government customer requirements development, program management, and acquisition
  • Experience with International business development and relationship building with international customers
  • Current DOD Secret or TS clearance
  • General knowledge of the Northrop Grumman NTSD programs including EW, IRCM, targeting experience


Salary Range: $148,300 USD - $222,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
