Northrop Grumman is seeking a talented Quality Engineer to join our team in Rolling Meadows, IL.

The Quality Engineer develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product, focusing on defect minimization and process improvement.

• Collaborates with manufacturing engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
• Assists in the performance of independent quality reviews to ensure compliance with contractual and customer requirements.
• Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
• Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction assuring process and product quality. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
• May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. 
• May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

This role can be filled as a Quality Engineer or a Principal Quality Engineer based on the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications

• Quality Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field and 2+ years of relevant experience (MS Degree + 1+ years)
• Principal Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field and 5+ years of relevant experience (MS Degree + 3+ years; PhD + 1+ years)
• Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
• Solid written and verbal interpersonal, communication skills
• Ability to coordinate customer communications across multiple programs
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams to resolve problems or issues
• Manufacturing or Quality Assurance Experience
• Trained and experienced in performing Root Cause Corrective Action
• Experience working with electrical or mechanical design requirements and specifications
• Participate in corrective action boards using analytic techniques to identify trends in manufacturing
• Experience with SAP

Preferred Qualification:

• Experience working with manufacturing and/or integration and test
• Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management
• Have experience in quality planning
• Mentor lesser experienced engineers on areas of manufacturing

MAQEA

Salary Range: $71,500 USD - $107,300 USD

Salary Range 2: $88,000 USD - $132,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
