We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer based out of Rolling Meadows, IL. As a Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation.

What You’ll get to Do:

 

Engineering Labs Management is looking for an Lab Systems Engineer/Principal Lab Systems Engineer with an understanding of design, analysis, integration & test, and anomaly investigation in a broad range of technologies used across the IRCM and LITENING Engineering laboratories at Rolling Meadows. The position requires coordination with multi-discipline functions to ensure that the SIL/Lab test environments are operational and fully compliant. Specific assignments include troubleshooting to support anomaly resolution, maintaining configuration control of laboratories, and general support to the laboratory user community. Additional responsibilities may include electrical design analysis, deriving Special Test Equipment (STE) design requirements from system requirements, preparing and performing design reviews, laboratory and hardware design, and developing test drawings/documents. 

 
Responsibilities:


• Ensure functional operation of engineering tools, equipment, and test systems for IRCM and LITENING Engineering SILs and Labs.
• Configuration Management of laboratories, to include hardware, software, tools, and documentation.
• Provide technical support to user community.
• Maintain high-level functional and performance requirements.
• Maintain equipment/SIL certifications (validation), develop test plans and procedures as needed.
• Identify capability enhancement opportunities and implement solutions, including championing capital projects as necessary.
• Support Laboratory Capital project development.
• Knowledge transfer debugging skillset to Electronic Technicians.

 

Basic Qualifications for Systems Engineer: 
 
BS in Electrical Engineering or STEM degree with 2+ years of related experience or MS in Electrical Engineering or STEM degree with 0 years of experience.

• Strong analytical skills with an understanding of circuit design theory and troubleshooting experience.

• System integration and test experience.
• U.S. citizenship.

Must have ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance prior to start date. Once started, must have the ability to obtain full secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer: 
 
BS in Electrical Engineering or STEM degree with 4+ years of related experience or MS in Electrical Engineering or STEM degree with 2+ years of experience.

• Strong analytical skills with an understanding of circuit design theory and troubleshooting experience.

• System integration and test experience.
• U.S. citizenship.

Must have ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance prior to start date. Once started, must have the ability to obtain full secret clearance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with IRCM system operation and test environments.

• Understanding of Python.

• Current Secret Clearance.


Salary Range: $78,600 USD - $118,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
